私たちについて
futashiba248（フタシバ）は、茨城県を拠点に活動する染色デザイナーユニット
茨城県の農家から譲り受けた木の枝や葉など、これまで廃棄されてきた素材に新たな価値を見出し、色として再解釈することから活動を始めました
自然素材が美しい色へと変化していくプロセスを大切にしながら、染色作品を生み出し、その背景にある地域や農家のストーリーを発信しています
現在は「農color44」として、茨城44市町村それぞれの色を記録するプロジェクトに取り組んでいます
植物から生まれる色は
その土地の気候や風土、生産者の営み、積み重ねられた時間が映し出された記録でもあります
私たちは色を染めるだけでなく、農家のもとを訪ね、話を聞き、土地を歩き、その背景ごと色として残していきます
完成した色は、衣服や布、和紙、展示、体験を通してお届けしています
「色が語る物語」を通して、地域や農家の魅力を再発見してもらうことを大切にしています

【 サステナブルな取り組み 】
・農家などで役目を終えた枝や葉、花などを染色素材として活用
・オーガニックコットンやオーガニックリネンなど、環境やつくり手に配慮した天然素材を使用
・色を抽出したあとの植物も、堆肥や手漉き和紙の原料として再活用
・染色体験や教育プログラムを通して、植物や農業、地域について知る機会をつくる
植物から色をいただき、染めて終わりにするのではなく、その後に残る植物もできる限り活かしながら、ものづくりを続けています
また、地域の植物や農作物を題材とした体験を通して、植物の背景にある土地や人の営みを次の世代へ伝えていくことも、私たちの活動の一つです

About Us
futashiba248 is a dyeing design unit based in Ibaraki, Japan.
We work with branches, leaves, and agricultural by-products generously shared by local farmers, transforming them into color while preserving the stories behind them.
Through our ongoing project, "Nō Color 44"(Agricultural Color 44), we are documenting the colors of all 44 municipalities in Ibaraki Prefecture.
To us, color is more than a visual expression. It is a record of climate, landscape, local food culture, and the lives of the people who cultivate the land.
Rather than simply dyeing materials, we visit farms, listen to stories, walk through the landscape, and translate those experiences into color.
The colors we create are shared through garments, textiles, handmade paper, exhibitions, and workshops.
Through the stories told by color, we hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for local communities, agriculture, and the beauty that exists within everyday life.

SUSTAINABILITY
* We use branches, leaves, flowers, and other plant materials that are no longer needed by local farmers as natural dye materials.
* We use natural fabrics such as organic cotton and organic linen, with consideration for the environment and the people involved in their production.
* After extracting the color, the remaining plant materials are reused as compost or incorporated into handmade washi paper.
* Through dyeing workshops and educational programs, we create opportunities to learn about plants, agriculture, and local communities.
Our process does not end once the color has been extracted and the fabric dyed. We aim to make use of the remaining plant materials wherever possible, allowing each material to continue into another form.
Through experiences centered on local plants and agricultural products, we also share the stories of the land and the people behind them, passing these connections on to future generations.
